Each of us has this ideal version of ourselves that we prep for, waiting until we’ve arrived to feel fully comfortable in our skin. If I close my eyes, I know exactly what that version of myself feels like, looks like, acts like, and even where it finds itself. When I close my eyes, I envision myself sitting in front of my laptop, feverishly writing each day taking breaks to let the animals out, pull up some weeds in the garden, and spend some time talking with the ones I love the most. It’s funny I imagine myself trimmer, with a more youthful glow, and somehow being at such a level of peace I believe all is well with the world. My ideal version of myself rolls with the punches, takes time to smell the roses, and knows the value of human connection and enveloping oneself within its arms. My ideal self blooms itself fully where it is planted and enjoys each moment for what it is worth not what it may be one day.
