It’s easy to get overwhelmed by the debris in our lives. The fallen pieces we’d rather forget than allow us to tie us down. Each of us creates debris as we go about our days, willingly and unconsciously as we are constantly making choices, acting on thoughts and emotions, and sitting on the sidelines. While our debris may look different, essentially it all boils down to the same thing, struggle. Everyone struggles. You struggle, I struggle, we all struggle. Struggle is the rub to life, the friction forged from contrast that allows us to put our free will to good use. Sometimes we become entrenched in our debris and find ourselves more comfortable in its company than venturing out into the great unknown. When we layer ourselves up in what we know there is a certain familiarity that seems safe, when at best it is keeping us from becoming a better version of ourselves. When we keep our “ick” around us, we attract more “ick” and we are saying to the universe we want more of the same, please bring us more.
